Martin Pageau, CCP

Region: Quebec

Position Statement

The CCP designation provides a formal recognition as the symbol of excellence in credit management in Canada. One of the great values of the Credit Institute of Canada is that it is the only organization that grants official designations to professionals in the Canadian credit field. Back in 1997, I was offered a job as an accounts receivable supervisor and my boss did ask me to obtain a C.C.P. designation (formerly F.C.I. designation) so it provides me with specific knowledge in the credit field along with a recognition that all Canadian businesses are looking for at time of hiring. That decision really did help me to get to senior leadership positions in the credit management market.

For 25 years, I have always supported the national office of the Credit Institute of Canada and its Quebec chapter by participating in different training sessions, networking events and national conferences. (Mont-Tremblant, Whisler, Charlottetown, Québec and Banff)

I believe that my experience will be beneficial, and I am very motivated to get more involved with the CIC and be the Quebec representative on the CIC's national board. I also do have an excellent relationship with several of the existing national board members and CCP members across Canada. I am fluently bilingual which facilitates the integration to the CIC of French speaking CCP members located mostly in the Quebec province. It also ensures their voice is heard at the national office which improves inclusion of all Regions.

It will be an honor to serve on the National board of the Credit Institute of Canada and I am looking forward to my participation to promote both The Credit Institute of Canada and the local Quebec Chapter in the next years.
