Position Statement 

There is no other body in this country like the Credit Institute of Canada. For almost 100 years the Credit Institute has been the foundation of support for credit professionals and like-minded industry professionals. Now the Certified Credit Professional designation is a widely recognized symbol of excellence Employers recognize and look for.

For over 10 years I have had the honor to support my local Atlantic Chapter. I’m excited to join the National Board of Directors to work with the other directors and national office staff. I’m looking forward to continue the work to provide a high standard of education, learning opportunities, member support, support the integrity of the institute and to promote the CIC at the national level.

Biography 

Marcus was born in Ontario and graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts: Economics. His career took him to Tennessee then to Prince Edward Island where he met his wife and started a family. Through his career, he worked in various positions relating to finance. He grew to favor the work challenges relating to Accounts Receivable, Credit and Risk Management and studied to receive his Certified Credit Professional designation.

Marcus believes in staying active. He’s been supportive of his two sons’ activities by volunteering as a soccer coach and manager of their various sports teams. He and his wife regularly volunteer to support local events. Upon receiving his CCP designation, Marcus has been an active volunteer with the Atlantic chapter of the Credit Institute. Over the years he’s held several positions with the Chapter.

Marcus believes in fostering an environment of open communication and mutual respect. He believes in supporting the people around him and leading by example. He believes strong teams are key to great success.
