Position Statement

As someone with many years of experience in the credit industry, as well as having served previously on the National Board and at the Chapter level, I want to contribute to the future direction of the Credit Institute of Canada.

As we emerge from the turbulent time of COVID-19, it is becoming far more urgent to pivot and adapt to the changing direction of all organizations to ensure their longevity and survival.

I have effective communication skills and think outside the box to find alternative solutions to roadblocks.

I have a strong belief in a Credit Professionals place in all organizations and we need to ensure that the training provided to our membership is second to none.

By collaborating with the other National Board members, I know we can work together to continue the work of the previous boards and move the agendas to fruition.

Biography

What defines me: I am not afraid to speak my mind or challenges and I have the ability to pull teams together to move towards a goal.

I was born in Quebec, where both my brothers still live. Our family is scattered across the country, from Seattle, to Calgary, Montreal and here in Toronto. I have two grandchildren and two grand-puppies and a lovely cat named Minou (who has become famous on all my Zoom calls since the start of the pandemic). I love to read and walk.

Currently, I work at Bunzl Canada where I am the Credit & Collections Manager leading an amazing team. Over the last few years, I stepped into the role of a the project manager to implement a collections management tool that was being rolled out across Canada This project required team work with many different groups across Canada as well as the UK. As well, I worked with the US Corporate team to implement a cash application project.

During my previous role at Strongco, as their National Credit Manager I led the AR team through an SAP migration and a decentralization of the Credit Team to local branches across the country.

I served on the board of the Credit Institute of Canada, Hamilton Chapter for six years, and the last two as President. I am still an active member of the Chapter.

During my tenure as President, we moved the Hamilton Chapter meetings to a Burlington location in order to allow easier access to members in the region, increasing the overall meeting participation in the chapter.

The pandemic provided challenges to both my work life and home life and demonstrated how easily we could adapt to everything from working from home to attending my wine club meetings on line.

As we move forward to the new reality, it will be interesting to see how life continues to adapt.
