Join us for a networking breakfast followed by a presentation from Crowe MacKay & Company Ltd., Licensed Insolvency Trustee.

If you have not yet worked through a bankruptcy, are interested in learning more about the process, or have specific questions relating to the bankruptcy process then this session is for you.

Topics covered will include :

·        Review the current Commercial and Consumer Bankruptcy landscape
·        Review court process for insolvency including proposal and CCAA  (ie what to expect)
·        Review best practices to maximize your recoveries.

Our speaker : Derek Lai, CPA, CMA, LIT, CFE



Derek practices in the area of both consumer and corporate insolvency and restructuring, and strives to offer service that is responsive, honest, and creative. His commercial insolvency experience includes private and court appointed receiverships, bankruptcies, and CCAAs. In addition, he has assisted financial institutions and debtors in conducting corporate financial, operational, and viability assessments. Derek has been involved in a number of insolvency engagements in a variety of industries and has also been called upon to assist in a range of forensic accounting and litigation support matters relating to fraud, misappropriation of funds, and matrimonial disputes.
