Welcome to our chapter! It is with great pleasure that I present to you a reflection on the past year, which was marked by significant progress and exciting developments for our organization. While we started the year with several board vacancies, we faced these challenges head-on, and I am pleased to report that we emerged stronger than ever. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to our volunteers, sponsors, and board members for their unwavering dedication and support. Your commitment has been instrumental in driving our success, and for that, we are truly grateful. In 2024, we took a bold step by challenging the status quo a bit, exploring new opportunities, and hosting events that were innovative and engaging. One such initiative was our boat cruise held in September. This event exceeded all expectations, with attendance nearly doubling that of similar past events. It was a remarkable success, and we look forward to making it an annual tradition. In November, we hosted our Annual Graduation Ceremonies at the Vancouver Country Club. A key highlight was the outstanding sponsorship and volunteer support we received. Furthermore, we were honored to have David Hopkins in attendance. For many of our new graduates, this ceremony served as an excellent introduction to what CIC truly stands for and the community we continue to build. As the year drew to a close, we celebrated the holidays with our social event in December. Once again, we were thrilled by a high turnout and generous sponsorship. This event provided an excellent opportunity for members to unwind, reflect on the year, and connect with colleagues. In February, we hosted a highly successful webinar on "Fraud Prevention," presented by Alex from Nectarine Credit. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we plan to continue oering webinars on topics of significant value to our members. Stay tuned for more in the coming months. Despite the challenges we faced, last year proved to be a period of tremendous growth. We saw increased event turnout, stronger sponsorship support, and a more favorable cash flow position. These successes have laid the foundation for an even more exciting and dynamic year ahead, with new events and initiatives on the horizon. I am excited to announce several upcoming events. On May 9th, we will host a webinar on "Preventative Measures & Creditors’ Remedies," presented by Erin Stewart and Benjamin Lorimer from Baker Newby Law Firm. This promises to be an insightful and valuable session for all. On June 26th, we will be hosting an Axe Throwing event at Bad Axe Throwing in Surrey, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. This fun-filled event is designed to allow us to unwind and enjoy some lighthearted competition, and I encourage all of you to participate. Further details will be shared soon. Additionally, I am pleased to confirm that our highly anticipated boat cruise will return, with the tentative date set for September 5th. We hope to build on the success of last year's event and make it even more memorable. These are just a few of the exciting events we have planned for the upcoming year. After the AGM lookout for a questionnaire to gather your feedback and suggestions for additional events, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs and interests of our members. As we look forward to the year ahead, I am filled with optimism and anticipation. I am confident that, with your continued support, we will achieve even greater success. Thank you all for your dedication and commitment to our shared mission. Harinder Virk, CCP Credit Institute of Canada – President BC Chapter
